Terms & Conditions
Use of the Mountains of Ink website is conditional upon the acceptance of, and compliance with, the information contained or referred to in the Terms and Conditions outlined below. Your use of this website indicates an absolute acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Privacy
Personal information
We respect your privacy.
Any information collected on this site will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, reused, rented, disclosed, traded or loaned. It will not be used in ways that you have not consented to.
We employ companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf, examples of which include fulfilling orders and delivering packages. These agents have access to personal information required in order to perform specific tasks directly related to your order, and may not use it for other purposes.
Payment information
All payment information is secure via PayPal Australia. PayPal automatically encrypts the information you provide via a Secure Sockets Layer protocol (commonly referred to as SSL) that has an encryption key length of 128-bits. This is the highest level of encryption commercially available, enabling you to confidently use your credit cards online.
We do not store any credit card details.
Product prices and availability
Product availability and prices are subject to change without notice.
Orders are managed on a first-in, first-served basis. For large-volume orders we may need to source products from more than one of our warehouses, which may result in staggered deliveries. You will not, however, incur any additional delivery charges as a result.
Warranty and returns
Warranty
Mountains of Ink provides a full manufacturer’s warranty for all products.
If you find any items are faulty, contact us immediately via email with your name and address, invoice number and a summary of the problem.
It is important to note that warranty terms and conditions vary between manufacturers. Mountains of Ink will advise on the specific terms and conditions for both consumable and hardware warranties on a case-by-case basis.
Faulty items
Mountains of Ink will organise return freight of faulty items to our head office, and will ship a replacement as soon as the goods have been returned and the fault determined.
Faulty items must be returned in the original packaging and in their entirety, including all relevant components, packing materials and instructions.
Once returned, items will be examined and tested. Some products need to be returned to the manufacturer for assessment, with returns being credited only on approval by the manufacturer after they have assessed the fault.
In the event that an issue is found to be the result of customer-error, Mountains of Ink will charge a handling fee of between $10 and $50 depending on the delivery charges incurred and the size of the product.
Mountains of Ink reserves the right to reject unreasonable requests for replacement.
Change of mind
Mountains of Ink supplies a high volume of stock Australia-wide, with an extremely low margin. As this is the case, we must charge a restock fee for items that:
(a) have been incorrectly ordered, or
(b) are no longer required.
Change of mind items will incur a restocking fee that is 10% of the original price of the product to cover warehouse redistribution costs.
Mountains of Ink can only accept the return of incorrectly-ordered or change-of-mind products that are unopened and in as-new condition, including packaging. Returned products must be accompanied by the original invoice.
The client incurs all costs associated with the return of these products to Mountains of Ink (including the original delivery costs), as well as ensuring that the products are returned in appropriate packaging. We do not take responsibility for damage in transit or lack of appropriate packaging.
We do not accept goods more than 30 days from date of invoice – there are a number of variables that may affect the quality of the product over time, including incorrect storage. We are unable to re-sell products that are expired or that may, through age, provide inadequate performance.
Mountains of Ink is happy to provide a 30-day return service to our clients, but bear in mind that we have no legal responsibility to do so. In trying to deliver high-quality service by accepting returned goods, we do not want to diminish the service we provide to fellow clients by compromising the quality of our products. As a result, we take back only those products that fit the above criteria.
PayPal requirements
Please note that PayPal also has a 30-day timeframe of refunds, with transactions occurring after this period incurring a fee. If the item is not returned in sufficient time, providing Mountains of Ink two business days for processing, a PayPal fee may be incurred by the client.
Incorrectly-dispatched orders
Mountains of Ink will accept returns of products that we have incorrectly delivered, as well as cover any associated delivery costs, provided the invoice shows a different item to that supplied.
Undelivered orders
If you do not receive your product within the standard timeframe, please contact us within seven (7) days via email with your name, address and invoice number. If notification is not made within seven (7) days of ordering, Mountains of Ink reserves the right to reject any request for replacement.
Damaged products
If you receive a package from us that is in any way damaged, do not open the item and contact us immediately. Our distributors have been carefully selected for their professionalism and care, and we will not accept any request for replacement of damaged goods that appear to have been tampered with by clients.
If contact is not made within three (3) working days of delivery, Mountains of Ink reserves the right to reject any request for replacement.
Loss or damages
Mountains of Ink will not be liable in any way for loss resulting from faulty parts or delivery delays. This includes (but is not limited to) damage to machinery, damage to reputation, loss of data, or loss of business and/or profits.

Delivery
Same-day delivery
Orders that are placed before 10am will be dispatched on the same day for same-day delivery to metropolitan areas of Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, excluding Sydney.
While we make every effort to ensure orders are processed immediately, same-day delivery is not guaranteed. Issues out of our control may prevent early dispatch. This includes (but is not limited to) ordering after 10am, national product and stock shortages, supplier error or delivery error.
Overnight delivery
Orders that are placed before 2pm will be dispatched that same day for overnight delivery to metropolitan areas.
While we make every effort to ensure orders are processed immediately, overnight delivery is not guaranteed. Issues out of our control may prevent same-day dispatch. This includes (but is not limited to) ordering after 2pm, national product and stock shortages, supplier error or delivery error.
Orders placed prior to a weekend or public holiday will not be delivered until the next business day.
Carriers
Mountains of Ink engages a number of distributors to ensure efficient transportation and delivery of product orders. While we make every effort to manage the product through the warehouse efficiently, we have no control over delivery after the product has left the warehouse. Occasionally some parcels may be delivered late, and Mountains of Ink takes no responsibility for this or any other issues experienced by the delivery system.
Correct details
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that the contact details supplied are correct. Failure to provide a correct delivery address may result in delays.
Mountains of Ink does not accept liability for goods delivered to the wrong premises as a result of incorrect or poor information.
If an incorrect address is provided, Mountains of Ink will make every effort to contact the relevant parties and correct the mistake at our discretion, but we bear no responsibility for the goods.
Please check your order and address details carefully.
Parcel tracking
The progress of your parcel can be tracked at all times by Mountains of Ink. Please do not hesitate to contact us via phone or email at any time.
Authority to leave
Delivering to a work address is much safer than leaving a parcel unattended at a home.
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that the delivery address provided is safe and appropriate for parcel delivery.
If no-one is home at the time of delivery, a card will be left to indicate the location of the parcel for pick-up. In those instances where clients are satisfied that the location is safe and secure, an Authority to Leave may be requested. This requests that the courier leave the parcel in a specified location at your unattended premises. You agree that the parcel is deemed received when left at your premises.
Mountains of Ink and contractors associated with the delivery are not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from an Authority to Leave, and shall not be liable for any claims, demands, losses, liabilities, costs or expenses incurred after the package has been delivered to the nominated premises.
Upon receipt of the parcel
It is the responsibility of the client to check that all items have been supplied correctly.
In the event that Mountains of Ink has supplied an incorrect item, do not open or damage the packaging. We are unable to return products where packaging has been opened or damaged, even if the products supplied are incorrect.
In the event that you have inadvertently ordered an incorrect item, Mountains of Ink may exercise discretion to provide an exchange, credit or refund, provided that:
• Products are unopened and in as-new condition, including packaging
• The original invoice is provided
• The client incurs all costs associated with the return of the product
• The client bears responsibility for any damage incurred in return transit, including lack of appropriate packaging, and
• Products are returned within 30 days of invoice.
A restocking fee of 10% of the original price of the product will be charged to cover warehouse redistribution costs, and delivery costs incurred by Mountains of Ink in the delivery of the initial product may be deducted from any refund.
We look forward to supporting you
Mountains of Ink aims to deliver the best possible service to clients. At all times we will ensure that the needs of our clients are met, first and foremost, while ensuring the integrity of our business.
